Loan response times: what happens after you apply
By NovaCash · Updated September 22, 2026
Understand the steps from application and bank verification to a decision, offer acceptance and payment, without treating response targets as promises.

When a bill is urgent, the time between applying and receiving money matters. Those are separate stages. NovaCash targets about five minutes to complete the form and a response within 60 minutes for a complete file, depending on submission timing. Neither target promises acceptance or a transfer by a particular deadline.
Before relying on a loan for a bill due today, ask the bill provider whether extra time is possible. Keep that conversation separate from your application so you have a plan if review or payment takes longer than expected.
Start with a complete application
The form collects identity, contact, address, income and reference information. Check details such as your email address, phone number and pay information before submitting. Preparation can reduce avoidable corrections, but it does not determine the decision.
Read the NovaCash eligibility criteria first. The published offer is $300 to $2,000 CAD and excludes self-employment and income from social assistance, child tax credits, student loans and retirement savings. If your income situation is unclear, call (877) 431-4134 before proceeding.
Complete bank verification
After submission, NovaCash sends the application to FinX, the system used to record and assess the file. You may be redirected to review its terms and complete instant bank verification, or IBV, through Flinks. Read the consent information before connecting your account.
IBV replaces paper-document submission in the published process. The lender still reviews account activity for the application. The word instant describes the verification service; it does not mean the lending decision and money transfer happen at the same moment. The IBV guide explains the verification step.
Wait for the review outcome
The 60-minute response target applies to complete files and depends on when you submit. A form sent successfully may still need the verification step completed. Check the confirmation and any instructions you receive before assuming everything required has reached the reviewer.
Keep your phone nearby during the process. If the verification screen does not open, use NovaCash's published phone number instead of submitting another application. Tell support which step you reached and what message appeared.
Read an offer before accepting
A decision is separate from your acceptance of a contract. If you receive an offer, read the amount, rate, payment dates, fees and total repayment. Include monthly membership fees in your budget. Check the actual schedule rather than relying on the calculator's six-month illustration.
Do not let an urgent deadline replace this review. If any charge or payment date is unclear, ask for an explanation. A prompt response is useful only if the terms are suitable for your budget.
Confirm the payment stage
After you accept an offer, funds are paid by Interac e-Transfer or direct deposit, as confirmed in the process. Ask about the status of that payment separately from the status of your application. A response target does not establish the time money will be available in your account.
If you are still waiting
Have your submission time, contact details and any reference or confirmation ready when you call (877) 431-4134. Ask whether the file is complete, whether anything is needed from you and which stage is pending. The application page's process explanation describes the published steps; your file's status needs confirmation from NovaCash.
